Check-in
Arrival
- The house will be ready for you between 3:00 – 4:00 PM.
- Please coordinate your arrival with Angela, who will be waiting for you on site. She will hand over the house and answer any questions you may have. Send her a message (via WhatsApp) one hour before your arrival. Angela is Croatian but speaks good English.
- Angela’s mobile phone: +385 911 748 310
- Upon your arrival, Angela will give you a tour of the house, explain everything, and show you around.
Parking
- The house is located on a hill above the sea. You cannot park directly at the house, but you can drive very close to unload your luggage and then park your car in the designated parking area by the main road. If you decide to drive down to the house, we recommend reversing down (as there is no space to turn around at the house). You can then drive back up facing forward — this is the best and proven way 🙂
- The house includes one private parking spot. Additional parking is public. Angela will show you everything and explain it to you. You can also find more information in the attached guide.
Electronic Check-in via the Alfred App
- Every foreign visitor is required to register within 48 hours of entering Croatia at the local police station. As your hosts, we take care of this obligation for you.
- For this reason, we need to collect some basic information from you.
- A link to the electronic receptionist Alfred will be sent to the email address you provided when booking. Through this link, you can complete a quick and convenient electronic check-in.
- You will also receive the same link via SMS to your phone number one day before arrival.
- The electronic check-in allows you to fill in the details for all guests in advance and from the comfort of your home, which will speed up and simplify your arrival and the handover of the villa. The entire process is intuitive, clear, and takes only a few minutes.
Tourist Tax
- In Croatia, the tourist tax (accommodation tax) is a mandatory fee that applies to most tourists. The amount depends on the type of accommodation, length of stay, and season.
- During the high season in the area where Villa Čiovo is located, the tourist tax is set at € 2.50 per day.
- Children under 12 years old are exempt from this fee and do not pay the tourist tax.
- Based on the information you provide in the Alfred app, the total amount of the tourist tax will be calculated and a QR code for payment will be sent to you.
Household waste
-
- Because the house is located on a hill above the sea, waste disposal is a bit complicated here (which is generally a problem in Croatia). The houses below us don’t have garbage bins, only small trash bags that guests must carry to the main road for collection, which is inconvenient for those guests. Our house is the last one on the street that doesn’t have to deal with waste this way and has its own garbage bin. This ensures regular collection of accumulated waste without the need to manage every single bag.
- The mixed waste bin can be found next to the entrance gate.
- Waste collection for houses with bins is arranged; the truck drives down the street to the stairs. Therefore, the bin must be brought up above the stairs on the evening before collection, to this spot:

- Here is a closer photo 🙂

- Please place the bin in this spot so it doesn’t block neighbors’ access to their parking spaces or the walkway to the stairs. Thank you in advance 🙂
- The bin is collected in the early morning hours, so it must be placed here the evening before. Please bring it back to the villa behind the fence right after collection, otherwise passersby may fill it with trash 🙂
- Waste collection days
- May – Monday and Thursday
- June – October – Monday, Thursday, Saturday
Thank you again for respecting these rules.
Please respect Quiet Hours
- This is a very peaceful location, away from tourist hustle and bustle, which makes it unique. Please also respect the quiet — loud talking or loud music echoes strongly on the hill and disturbs the neighbors.
- It is especially important to observe the midday siesta from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and the night quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
- Flying drones is prohibited. Due to the nearby houses, the neighbors are directly allergic to it, plus there is a no-fly zone because of Split Airport. We tried it ourselves when photographing the house, and it was definitely not welcomed ☺.
Pool
- A small above-ground pool measuring 4x2x1 meters is available for your use at the villa.
- The pool will be prepared before your arrival; however, it requires some basic care to keep the water clear and clean.
Fireplace
- Please grill only with charcoal, as there is a lot of dry wood around in summer, and it is not allowed to light a large fire in the fireplace.
- Please let the ashes cool down completely, make sure they are not hot, then put them in a plastic bag and dispose of them in the mixed waste bin.
Consumables
- In each apartment or the outdoor kitchen, we have prepared a starter supply of toilet paper, trash bags, and dishwasher tablets for you.
Summer Kitchen
- The summer kitchen is fully equipped – no need to bring anything from home; all utensils are provided.
- A coffee maker filled with coffee is ready for you.
- Basic spices are also available.
Towels and Bedding
- Each guest has a large and a small towel available.
- All beds, including extra beds, are made up with fresh linens.
Beaches and Swimming
- Beach directly below the house – From the villa, go right, then down the stairs. There is a stone beach with a pier. It is a quiet beach reserved only for the nearby houses. We launch paddleboards from here.
- Stari Porat Beach – A small pebble beach within walking distance, about 700 meters (8 minutes on foot). There is a small bar on this beach, and it is suitable for small children.
- Kava Beach – A small pebble beach 1.6 km away, about 20 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by car. Parking is available and free of charge.
- Labadusa Beach – A larger pebble beach approximately 3.5 km away, 5 minutes by car. The beach has restaurants, bars, water attractions, and paid parking.
- Okrug Beach – large pebble city beach, 5 km away, 10 minutes by car, lots of bars, stalls, attractions, more crowded during the season.
- Slatine Beach – several kilometers long beach on the other side of the island, about 15 km, 25 minutes by car, a mix of rocks, pebbles, and concrete; you can find quiet spots that require a walk along the sea to reach.
Grocery Stores
- There is a small shop in the village where you can buy basic groceries.
- In Okrug Gornji, there are several Tommy stores – prices are a bit higher.
- For larger shopping trips, we recommend Kaufland Trogir – best prices.
- For fish, seafood, and meat – the best place is Tommy, in the Spot center behind the airport, good prices and fresh products.
- The market – fish, fruit, and vegetables are many times more expensive than at Kaufland or Tommy, despite the same quality.
- Beer cans and PET bottles are refundable in Croatia; they must be clean and uncrushed, and are returned at the place where they were purchased.
Restaurants
- Didina Dika – a restaurant right in the village, located behind the grocery store on the way to the beach – excellent grilled food, good prices compared to the center of Trogir, where it’s rare to get meat cooked on charcoal.
- Labadusa – a great beachside restaurant, we recommend trying their black cuttlefish risotto.
- Tragos – a restaurant in Trogir – they serve excellent lamb leg from their own farm, high-quality cuisine.
- Bela – pastry shop and café in Trogir – the best ice cream
- Coccolo – steak restaurant in Trogir – the best steaks
- Tinel – a small café with great coffee – buy chocolate croissants at the market in the morning, have coffee and fresh juice here, and they allow you to eat what you bring in.
Check-out
Please check out by 10:00 AM at the latest. The house is quite large and we need time to prepare it for the next guests.
Thank you and we wish you a safe journey home…
…And one more small request — the garden is automatically watered except for two flower pots on the middle terrace.
Please water them about once every two days. Thank you very much ☺
We wish you a beautiful and peaceful stay.
